Genomics Platform

1.Presentation of the Platform
The sequencing – genotyping (NGS) and molecular analysis platform aims to make available to the regional scientific community, national and international as well as the socio-economic sector the tools necessary to carry out small, medium and high throughput sequencing and/or genotyping projects in the fields of health, agriculture and the environment. It offers a comprehensive range of transcriptome and genome analysis services.

2.Platform sections
2.1. Molecular genetics
This section brings together the means necessary for DNA and RNA extraction and genetic analysis using the methods of PCR, quantitative PCR, digital PCR, Fragment Analysis & Sanger Sequencing and FISH
The main analyzes proposed are :
  •  Detection of point mutations;
  •  Study of genetic polymorphism;
  •  Pathogen detection;
  •  Identification of expression and amplification (CNV) of targeted genes;
  •  Detection of the expression of miRNAs and small RNAs;
  •  Detection of chromosomal abnormalities.
2.2.Genomics
The high-throughput sequencing system, based on Next Generation Sequencing (NGS) technologies, allows the sequencing of genomes, exomes, transcriptomes, and panels of targeted genes and profile analysis of gene expression.
The main genomic analyzes proposed are :
  •  Sequencing of genomes, exomes and regions of interest (gene panel);
  •  Transcriptomic and epigenetic analyses;
  •  Metagenomics and 16S genotyping;
  •  Identification and quantification of small RNAs;
  •  De novo sequencing.
2.3.Bioinformatics
NGS technologies have significantly accelerated biological and biomedical research by enabling comprehensive analysis of genomes and transcriptomes. Managing the enormous amount of data coming from new sequencing platforms requires significant skills, computing power and high storage capacity (HPC). For this reason, our platform has an HPC (High Performance Computer) whose characteristics allow it to process data at high speed (Base calling, Alignment, Remove duplicates, Variant detection).).
