Ethics Advisory Committee

The setting up of an ethics advisory committee (CCE) at the Biotechnology Research Center (CRBT) is considered as an interesting opportunity for both of the staff and research partners of the C.R.Bt in order to:
  •  Identify Bioethical problems occurred during the design, conduct or recovery of research performed at the CRBT or other research structures.
  •  Encourage reflection and promotion of human and animal welfare and the respect for life.
  •  Provide advice and general orientations regarding case studies, specific questions or general topics related to research in the field of biotechnology and life sciences.
  •  Raise the awareness of the global scientific community about the scope and ethical dimension by disseminating ideas and recommendations relating to these areas

Functioning

The CCE is a space for reflection and discussions related on ethical issues in research and it must respect the data confidentiality.
The CCE cannot substitute the personal analysis of actors or the regularity framework of research activities or clinical trials or other institutional bodies of the C.R.Bt. It is essentially a reflection and consultative space, involved by multiple experts to offer more explanation that guide decisions on the ethical aspects of research.
