Bioremediation and Ecosystems Restoration team has as main line of research harnessing the bioremedial power of organisms (plants, bacteria, micro-algae, etc) for the depollution and restoration of disturbed aquatic and terrestrial ecosystems. And it is in this context that its main missions are articulated; on one hand the evaluation of pollution rate of the sites and receiving ecosystems of the various rejections resulting from the human activities, on the other hand the development of biotechnological processes using the organisms having a bioremedial power for the bioremediation and the restoration of the polluted ecosystems.

Team 3 :Ecotoxicology and Biomonitoring of ecosystems
Presentation :
The Ecotoxicology and Biomonitoring of Ecosystems research team aims to study the behavior and effects of polluting agents on ecosystems via so-called bioindicator species, understanding the mechanisms of action and exploring the ecotoxicological impacts at different levels of biological organization using an ecosystem approach. The team is also interested in the evaluation of toxic effects by exposing model organisms (plant, animal and microbial) to chemical substances / complex matrices based on a multibiomarker approach (mutagenicity and genotoxicity). The themes and areas of research that we develop are part of a sustainable development approach, both at the environmental level and at the social and economic level.

Treatment and recovery of bio-waste from agricultural activities, industrial and agro-industrial industries are important objectives of industrialized countries and especially of developing countries. They represent a real challenge to limit their impacts, which have been steadily increasing in recent years, on the environment and on human health. The challenges faced by today's society in the recuperation and bio-recovery of waste require continuous adaptation of the methods used. The themes and areas of research that we develop are part of a sustainable development approach, both at the environmental level and at the social and economic level.
